Going in hospital is always a humbling and challenging experience. It’s a process you have get through with as much courage, gratitude & trust, you can muster.
It’s about this time yesterday that the grogginess was starting to lift from my operation. I was given a clipboard, paper and pen to communicate and had to have patience to catch someone’s eye in recovery lounge to come over and fetch me some lunch.
Apparently my surgeon, the mighty Miss Elfy Chevertton had come to see me twice and update me but I had been fast asleep. Everyone else seemed to be in and discharging within hours whereas I had to wait for Nigel to finish work and collect me and to be quite honest I felt half in a coma state happy to read, sleep and drink.
I was so ready to be discharged at 6.45pm when my husband, Nigel arrived with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I just wanted to see the girls who I knew would be dying to see me home safely and play communicating on the write n swipe board! The girls Eva 8, Honor 6 wrote love notes to me and helped dish out my pain killers. Big hugs before big cosy sleep!
My lovely Mum arrived at 10pm after terrible struggles on the train to get here from Somerset. I was so so happy to know I had her for 24hrs to empathise and respond to needs.
Today after a steaming session, which I do 3 times a day, I felt so much more myself again. Just silent.
Feeling like it all is going smoothly and I was going to experience this with ease was partly my visioning the process how I wanted it to go and adding another tip that Shirley Palmer recommended was whilst imagining it all flowing, hold your left hand in a fist. Everytime during the process I felt anxiety, I would squeeze my left hand into a fist again to tune me back into that image. It really worked.
It felt so good today to have a long candle lit bath oozing with Arbonne treats. Feeling gratitude that we were over the worst and that everything had gone to plan at home in my absence thanks to our wonderful new Aupair Zaneta, taking courage to drive the girls to school and back on her own and see to all their needs with complete faith.
